0:00Michael Chiklis’ advice
0:00for family caregivers
0:00I just want to
0:00encourage people
0:04who are caregivers
0:06to care for themselves
0:09and to know that
0:11they’re not alone.
0:12I don’t know precisely
0:14what the statistics are,
0:16but I know that you look
0:18left and right of you,
0:20and just about
0:23everybody you know
0:24is dealing with this
0:26to some degree.
0:27Whether it’s their parents,
0:29a sibling,
0:30a spouse,
0:32someone in their world
0:34is requiring care,
0:36and some of them
0:37constant care.
0:38And the physical,
0:40emotional
0:42and financial toll
0:44is sometimes
0:47just devastating.
0:49Don’t let it be that.
0:51Know that you
0:52aren’t alone.
0:53Know that there
0:55are people and
0:56there’s access.
0:58There’s resources for you.
0:59Taking care of someone to
1:02the exclusion of yourself
1:04is not fair or right.
1:07So my hat off to you,
1:09and my heart out to you,
1:11and do what you need to do
1:12to make sure that you’re OK.
