We are devastated by the school shootings in Uvdale, Texas and in other schools across America. We are heartbroken and angered by the shootings in streets, subways, and public spaces that deserve to be safe.
Every day, more than 110 Americans are killed by gun violence. These 110 are loved ones, colleagues, children, friends.
For the teachers who sacrificed their lives for a horrific, unnecessary and completely preventable reason, for mothers terrified to send their children to school, for every child who has to worry if they’ll have a chance to grow up and become something, we have to act, not later but now. Enough.
We need to do more than grieve. Call your legislators, donate, and spread the word.
