Cabot farmers appreciate that the conversations about living well to the end of life are blooming. To complement over two decades of support in our communities and among our consumers in this ‘tough to talk about’ arena, we used our Centennial to work with the The University of Vermont Medical Center to define and support an End of Live Death Doula certification program. It is very powerful to see national media such as Fast Company include our program in their history of the growing trend to address end of life conversations before a crisis. Crisis at the end of life is one of the biggest burdens on our health care system costs and resources. Too often the intervention folks endure is not wanted but individuals failed to adopt Living Wills or Quality of Life directives in advance. We hope that you have had these tough conversations with your families.
