0:00coming clinic and people are thinking, could they possibly have sleep apnea?
0:04There's usually three things that I'm looking for.
0:06Number one is do they snore? But unfortunately, most people seem to snore.
0:10Uh, the second one is, have they witnessed, have they been witnessed stopping breathing in their sleep or have they realized that they've woken up gasping for air?
0:18That's often times all I need.
0:20But a third one is this daytime sleepiness or fatigue. I think that becomes critically, critically important.
0:25What I tell people is if you have two out of these three main symptoms, it's probably time to do a sleep test.
0:32And nowadays, what I'm recommending are things called a home sleep test.
0:37This is something that's a little bit different since COVID, what we've discovered is nobody wants to come in and do a sleep study.
0:43And I kind of don't blame them. I mean, 27 electrodes, video cameras, the whole thing.
0:47Now, we can actually put something that you wear on your wrist or on your finger, sent to your home and we have a much better study and a much better environment.
