AARP's Nancy LeaMond issued the following statement related to restructuring plans announced by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services:
"As HHS moves forward, we urge the agency to prioritize essential health needs – particularly for older Americans and their caregivers. HHS must ensure that Americans can access senior centers, community health centers, nutritious meals, help with Medicare, and other essential services that countless older Americans rely on. Health is central to the lives, wellbeing and financial status of AARP’s members and the more than 100 million Americans over age 50."
